Peak to Plateau
A company that is abundantly passionate about sharing the warmth and softness of yak fiber to the world through everyday apparel.
As the Founder of Peak to Plateau, Stefan Warnaar spent 3 months in 2015 exploring the expansive Mongolian Steppe and the tall peaks of the Himalayas and Central Asian mountains. After having the opportunity to live amongst local Yak headers and getting acquainted with the texture and insulating abilities of yak fiber, he knew that people had to be introduced to this amazing natural fiber.
The first year of developing Peak to Plateau was mostly spent securing the supply of yak fiber, prototyping fabrics, and testing the product. Soon enough, the company was pushing out simple, but nevertheless fantastically warm, beanies, neck warmers, and base layers. Peak to Plateau’s simplicity is intentional: they want the yak fiber to do the talking and show off its natural warmth, softness, and breathability.
Whether you’re a skier, snowboarder, hiker, mountain biker, world traveler, or anything in between, Peak to Plateau allows you to get out there and enjoy yourself. It is their mission to lead a change in the outdoor industry by creating a product that not only performs the best, but connects you to the people and the environment that it comes from. They create a positive impact for the world, and have fun while doing it (talk about a BIG IndieGetup head nod)!
