Maroon Bell Outdoor® is a fashion-conscious, outdoor apparel brand based out of Denver, Colorado.
Jeremy Dougherty, a fourth-generation Coloradan launched Maroon Bell in the spring of 2017 at a grassroots level. The goal is to build a company without banks or investors then give 3% of sales back to Denver non-profits. The strategy is to scale slowly with innovative designs of the highest quality while supporting the community we grew up in.
The direction of the brand is shaped in our slogan “ Hike by day, cocktail by night, stay fashionably comfortable the whole time”. While we would love to trek around the Andes for six months at a time, most of us live and work in a city and are able to venture into the hills for an afternoon or a weekend. Because of this reality, we don’t need an $800 jacket suitable for Everest. What we need is a usable, fashion-conscious garment that can be worn on a hike then to a café or brewery without having to change.
Maroon Bell Outdoor is also setting out to change the idea of what it means to be in the outdoors. For too long major corporations have molded an elite image of what they need it to mean. Our goal is to shape a new message that you don’t have to be on top of a mountain or hanging from a thousand foot cliff to find the outdoors. You simply have to go outside. You can find the outdoors in Manhattan, Denver or Chicago. If you can see the sky, a tree, grass or feel the breeze, then you are in the outdoors. Nobody owns the outdoors and everybody can find a piece of it, often times hiding in plain sight.
Finally, Maroon Bell Outdoor believes in the world and that we don’t have to destroy it to get ahead. We are committed to focusing on environmentally conscious ways of doing business.
