What’s your story? Unified People is a sustainable, cause-based streetwear brand born from the idea that customers shouldn’t have to choose between sustainability, ethics and style. The Co-founders—Andrew, Steven David, and Tori—met in 2017 and bonded over their love of streetwear and their disappointment in the harmful practices of the fashion industry. Two years later, they decided to pursue their passion of creating an apparel brand that celebrates bold graphic design, while also defying traditional unsustainable methods and giving back to the community.

What’s your “why”?

With values rooted in sustainability, philanthropy and conscious consumption, Unified People’s mission is to amplify the power of the collective and do more good in the world. Our brand launched as a counterpoint to the traditional streetwear industry to prove that high-quality, stylish essentials can be made in a more sustainable way. As a result, we have values that we live by: Celebrate Diversity, Create Consciously, Promote Philanthropy, and Uphold Excellence.

Unified People designs thoughtfully-made silhouettes with bold graphics that inspire and appeal to all lifestyles. We keep production local and knit, cut, sew, and dye all of our apparel in Los Angeles, with a partner that values sustainable & ethical production. We believe that amazing things can be achieved when people unify together, and with each of our collections, we donate a portion of sales to causes enacting positive change for our communities.

What’s your flagship product?

Unified People specializes in sustainable streetwear essentials and headwear. We create thoughtfully-made, premium unisex pieces, designed with bold graphics that inspire.

Why does sustainability matter?

When it comes to our production—from garment to packaging—Unified People is committed to reducing our impact. Our team is saddened by the harmful practices that have plagued the fashion industry for decades, and we vow to carefully consider each partner, product, and launch to ensure the most responsible path possible. That’s why all of our apparel is made ethically in Los Angeles from 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton, and packaged up using sustainable and compostable materials.

Do you contribute to your local community?

Giving back is an important aspect of the Unified People brand, and 10% of every purchase is donated directly to Advancement Project CA. Advancement Project CA is a multi-racial, multi-generational racial justice organization with expertise in research, advocacy, and policy. They work with partners and communities to expand educational opportunities for California’s children; create healthy and safe neighborhoods; ensure communities of color have a voice in our democracy; strengthen movement-building; and shift public investments toward programs that benefit all Californians—not just the privileged few. Their goal is to promote racial equity and build a foundation so that every Californian may thrive.
